How Isolar handles data
This policy explains the information Isolar collects, why it is used and the choices available to account owners, users and customers.
1. Information We Collect
- Account information such as name, business name, email, phone number, role and authentication records.
- Customer and project information entered by authorised users, including contact, address, energy, site, roof, equipment, pricing and proposal data.
- Files and media you upload, such as electricity bills, site images, company branding, attachments and proposal assets.
- Technical information such as IP address, device, browser, session, audit, error, performance and security logs.
- Subscription, billing status and payment references supplied by authorised payment providers. Isolar does not need to store full card details to provide the service.
2. How We Use Information
- Provide authentication, CRM, project, mapping, engineering, proposal, reporting and support functions.
- Calculate and generate requested design, BOM, SLD, financial, generation and proposal outputs.
- Secure the platform, prevent abuse, investigate incidents and maintain audit records.
- Communicate service, account, billing, support and legally required notices.
- Improve reliability and product workflows using aggregated or appropriately controlled operational data.
3. Roles and Customer Responsibility
For customer and project data entered by an EPC organisation, that organisation generally determines why the information is processed and Isolar processes it to provide the service. Account owners must ensure that they have appropriate consent or another lawful basis to collect and use customer information.
4. Sharing and Service Providers
We may share information with infrastructure, storage, database, email, SMS, payment, mapping, analytics, document-generation, security and support providers only as needed to operate the service. We may also disclose information to comply with law, protect rights and safety, complete a corporate transaction or act on an authorised customer instruction. We do not sell personal data.
5. Data Location and Transfers
Information may be processed in India or in other locations used by approved service providers. Where cross-border processing occurs, we use contractual, technical and organisational safeguards appropriate to the service and applicable law.
6. Retention
We retain information while an account is active and as needed to provide the service, maintain business and audit records, resolve disputes, enforce agreements and comply with law. Retention varies by data type and contractual requirement. Data may remain for a limited period in backups after deletion from active systems.
7. Security
We use access controls, tenant-aware permissions, authentication, logging, network and infrastructure safeguards appropriate to the platform. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, so account owners must also protect credentials and user access.
8. Your Choices and Rights
- Review and update account or project information through the platform where available.
- Request access, correction, deletion or restriction through the account owner or Isolar support, subject to identity verification and legal limits.
- Cancel marketing communications while continuing to receive essential service notices.
- Manage browser cookies as described in the Cookie Policy.
9. Children
Isolar is a business platform and is not directed to children. Users must not submit children’s personal information unless it is lawfully required for an authorised business process.
10. Changes and Contact
We may update this policy as the platform or legal requirements change. The current version will be posted here with its updated date. Privacy questions and requests can be submitted through the Contact Us page or the support channel available in your account.
